Longleaf and Loblolly are the two species of planted pines on the property. There are also Maple, Red Oak, White Oak, Cedar & Virginia Pines that have naturally seeded on the farm.
Our farm is proudly named "Tallanochee," a word derived from the Cherokee language, honoring the rich heritage of the local community. "Tallanochee" translates to "two pines," reflecting the two species of pine trees—Longleaf and Loblolly—that are planted and nurtured on our land. Pronounced TAL-a-NO-chee, Tallanochee Farms stands as a tribute to both the natural beauty of our land and the history of the people who have shaped this region.
